EirGrid Group, operator and developer of the electricity transmission grid in Ireland and Northern Ireland, has been nominated for the Best Transmission Brand award at the international Charge Energy Branding Awards 2018.
The awards take place every September in Reykjavik, Iceland with this year’s competition taking place on the 24th and 25th of the month.
EirGrid was nominated in the transmission category alongside Fingrid, Finland’s transmission system operator, and Enbridge, North America’s largest energy transportation company.
Overall, there are five categories; Established, Challenger, Green, Transmission and Product & Innovation.
An initial shortlist of over 80 companies was created by a global panel of experts from the energy, branding, advertising and academic sectors. This was then cut to 20 companies across the five categories.
Rosemary Steen, EirGrid’s director of external affairs, said she is immensely proud of EirGrid Group’s nomination.
“I am hugely proud of the work that has gone towards achieving this nomination, which recognises EirGrid as a trusted and respected brand. But the work doesn’t stop here. If we are to continue to meet consumer expectations for reliable and sustainable energy, we must also find new and more engaging ways to gain this trust,” she said.
