Clashavoon - Dunmanway

This project is new 110 kV electricity line connecting two substations in Co. Cork.

Construction of this line has now commenced by ESB Networks and their contractors and we expect energisation of the line in 2017.

Prior to this, ESB International prepared a planning amendment for the project in collaboration with EirGrid. ESB International met landowners along the length of the Clashavoon - Dunmanway line to discuss where to site pole sets.

On 28 September 2015, we submitted an amendment to the planning consent granted for the project by An Bord Pleanála in 2012.

This amendment application was granted on 25 January 2016 -  http://www.pleanala.ie/casenum/VM0009.htm.

The amendment accommodates changes to the locations of some structures associated with the project, including wooden pole-sets and steel towers.

These changes are the result of requests from landowners following our successful planning consent in 2012. The majority of landowner requested structure moves were possible, and were included in the planning amendment.

We were delighted to accommodate these requests from landowners in our application for the planning amendment.
