Who Are We?

At EirGrid Group, we operate, develop and enhance the electricity grid and market, bringing power to everyone throughout the island of Ireland.

Now, in support of government policy, we have made a commitment to significantly increase the amount of electricity we get from renewable sources. This is a key part of the EirGrid Group strategy 2020–2025.

Work with us to reduce Ireland’s reliance on fossil fuels and make decarbonisation a reality. The world is ready for change. If you are too, apply to our Graduate opportunities.

Working at EirGrid Group

There’s never been a more exciting time to join EirGrid Group. As a graduate, you’ll work alongside leading authorities in the energy sector as they develop cutting edge solutions to ensure we meet future electricity needs across the island of Ireland.

You’ll also be making a difference to the future of the planet: As we lead the way in the transition to managing renewable energy on the grid, graduates will have an exciting role to play as we prepare the grid to carry up to 80% of Ireland’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

Graduate Development Programme 2024

Our Graduate Development Programme is open to all new and recently qualified graduates specifically those in engineering, IT, cyber security, economics, business and finance.

To help us to achieve our goals we need graduates from all disciplines who are interested in working in the energy sector and helping us take on one of the challenges of the century. Our General Graduate stream is now open to graduates from all disciplines including physics, biology, mathematics and arts.

What's in it for our graduates?

Lasting two years, our programme is structured to give graduates rotations in three core elements across the Group. These rotations provide challenging assignments and exposure to different aspects of our business.

Throughout the programme, you will be involved in all aspects of our business. You’ll grow your knowledge and skills including getting involved in all aspects of our transmission system operation, understanding how the integrated electricity market operates across the Island of Ireland and in Europe, understanding what we need to do to continue to develop the necessary infrastructure through planning, consent, design and build stages.

You will be offered a competitive salary and benefits in addition to an accredited induction programme which runs over five weeks.

Throughout the programme we will continue to develop your knowledge and provide you with a suite of learning and development modules to assist you in making the leap from being successful as a student to being effective in a dynamic corporate environment.

You will be provided with a mentor to ensure you have the necessary support and guidance throughout the graduate programme.
