The purpose of this tender is to determine non-wires technologies that are available internationally, and how these could feed into the operational planning environment and outage management approach, to facilitate outages of transmission system primary plant that might otherwise not be granted or to reduce risk during the outages.

EirGrid plc and Réseau de Transport d'Électricité (RTE), Irish and French Transmission System Operators, are jointly developing the Celtic Interconnector between the Irish and French electricity grids.
EirGrid, and RTE have established an Irish incorporated Joint Venture (IJV) Celtic Interconnector Designated Activity Company (“CIDAC”) to procure, administer, manage and contribute to the design, development and construction of the Celtic Interconnector assets on their behalf.
On November 24th, 2022 CIDAC awarded a Cable EPC contract to an EPC Contractor. During the construction of the cable a HVDC subsea cable will be buried in the seabed between Ireland and France. During this installation process various other services owned by 3rd parties will need to be crossed. Each of these require relevant crossing agreements to be entered into, CIDAC require additional specialist Legal Support Services to support the negotiations and drafting of crossing agreements in Ireland, UK, and France.
