The following guidance document, here, contains general information on System Services Compliance Procedures. If further information is required, please contact generator_testing@eirgrid.com.
From 01 October 2018 submission of a unit under test has changed with guidelines here.
Units must submit a suitable load profile request form before making any changes to their characteristics, making any software upgrades or before carrying out testing.
For Conventional Generation Units, load profile forms can be found here.
For WFPS Units, load profile forms can be found here.
For DSUs, load profile forms can be found here and an updated Application form can be found here.
Implementation note for integration of Battery Energy Storage Systems is linked here.
EirGrid issues signal lists for each type of unit. Templates are published below for the different types of units. A specification document detailing the new signal requirements for the DS3 system services is published here.
For different types of WFPS Units connected in Ireland: Signal List Template TSO, Signal List Template DSO Type A, Signal List Template DSO Type B and Signal List Template DSO Type C, D and E. These templates include the signals required for the provision of System Services via Emulated Inertia.
For DSU Units connected in Ireland, the Signal List which includes the signals required for the provision of System Services can be found here.
For Interconnector units, the Signal List which include the signals required for the provision of System Services can be found here.
For Battery units, the Signal List which includes the signals required for the provision of System Services can be found here.
For DSU units connected in Northern Ireland, the signal List which includes the signals required for the provision of System Services can be found here.
For WFPS units connected in Northern Ireland, the signal List which includes the signals required for the provision of System Services via Emulated Inertia can be found here.
The table below lists the Compliance Procedures and Reports expected for the different technologies. Please make sure your unit technology type matches with the Compliance Procedures and Report. A System Services Scope Document is to be submitted two business days following confirmation of test date outlining the services the unit wishes to contract for, including a detailed plan and timeline of how they will achieve these goals. A Checklist is to be submitted with each report to ensure all required aspects of a complete report are met. A System Services Reserve Curve Tool is linked here to assist in development of the relevant System Services reports. If you have any questions regarding the Compliance Procedures and Reports please contact generator_testing@eirgrid.com.

*The Volume Capped documents are those which were originally published, and may only be used by the units which were successful in the Volume Capped tender process. Those units may choose to use the updated new templates if they wish. Any units with a query regarding this should contact generator_testing@eirgrid.com or generator_testing@soni.ltd.uk. as applicable.
Units wishing to reset data poor performance scalars will use the following template test report documents. Test reports will be based on recorded frequency response data as per the test procedure agreed with EirGrid/SONI or performance data showing frequency response capability.
For Conventional Generation Units, the template test report can be found here.
For WFPS Units, the template test report can be found here.
For Battery units, there is a template test procedure available for units wishing to test to reset data poor performance scalars. The template test report can be found here.
