The Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified candidate to the Board of EirGrid plc.

Candidates must demonstrate in their application evidence of experience of a successful career at executive and/or non-executive level in a complex organisation of scale, preferably within the Energy or ICT sectors; of leading large-scale systems innovation and capital investment in these sectors; and a record of contributing, at Bord level, to an organisation engaged in transformative change.

Also desirable is an understanding of energy sector policy, an understanding of the dynamics of operating in a regulated business environment, knowledge of the technological issues as they apply to the energy sector and the significant innovations that are required across the sector to deliver decarbonisation and a passion for addressing the challenges of climate change.
