Celtic Interconnector Community Benefit Fund

Celtic Interconnector Community Benefit Fund phase one applications close

Community Benefit Fund with an initial €960,000 available for community groups to apply for.

The €960,000 represents 40 percent of the €2.4 million Celtic Interconnector Community Benefit Fund established by EirGrid, in recognition of the importance of the local communities who support their work and the temporary disruption which may be caused within proximity of the cable line during the construction phase of the project. The fund recognises the important role communities play in facilitating grid infrastructure, as we work towards achieving our climate ambitions.

The overall aim is to increase public and environmental wellbeing in the community and to leave a positive legacy in the communities hosting EirGrid infrastructure.

Phase 1 of the fund opened for applications on 29 June 2023 and closed on 15 September 2023.
